Day 1 @ Summit EMEA Dublin 2018

Our colleague Laurent Van Aert is attending the Summit EMEA in Dublin. Summit EMEA is the User Group conference that brings Microsoft Dynamics 365, AX and CRM users, industry experts and software development vendors together to discuss important issues, to learn about product updates and to find genuine solutions that suit your business needs.

“It has been an exciting & interesting first day at the Summit EMEA Dublin 2018! We kicked off with a promising opening presentation demonstrating how Microsoft’s Business Applications can tremendously accelerate Digital Transformation. Followed by a live demo of Customer Engagement leveraging the capabilities of Microsoft Social Engagement, Customer Engagement, Portal Technology and more tools all combined to engage with your customer making sure expectations set by the brand’s strategy and related commitments are more than met.

At the same pace more valuable insights were gained during the afternoon sessions focusing firstly on Resco’s brand new Inspections module. And last but not least, we were introduced to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Marketing which will become the enabler for truly monitoring and steering the customer journey. I’m already looking forward to attend tomorrow’s sessions!”

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

April 2: Dynamics NAV in Dynamics 365 cloud

The Dynamics 365 Cloud Platform is evolving at light speed! As of April 2, full ERP capabilities of Dynamics NAV will be offered in the cloud.

Being introduced as Dynamics 365 Business Central, it will bring the full power of Dynamics NAV to the cloud. As such, Business Central has at its foundation a set of trusted, proven technologies that have served 160,000 customers and millions of users worldwide.

As a single, end-to-end application, Business Central offers (quoting Microsoft’s announcement):

  • Business without silos
    Unify your business and boost efficiency with automated tasks and workflows, all integrated within familiar Office tools like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Actionable insights
    Achieve greater outcomes and gain a complete view of your business with connected data, business analytics and guidance delivered by Microsoft’s leading intelligent technologies.
  • Solutions built to evolve
    Start quickly, grow at your own pace and adapt in real time with a flexible platform that makes it easy to extend Business Central based on your changing business needs.

Dynamics 365 Business Central will be generally available on April 2 in 14 countries, including Belgium, and will be sold only through Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners like we are. You can read the extended Microsoft announcement on their blog.

ClickDimensions will be GDPR compliant by the May 25 deadline

ClickDimensions will be GDPR compliant by the May 25 deadline

ClickDimensions will be GDPR compliant as the deadline of the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR is coming closer. We are happy to read that our partner ClickDimensions is also taking the necessary steps to ensure compliance with the GDPR. ClickDimensions is the marketing automation solution for Microsoft Dynamics 365, which lots of our clients and ourselves are already using for all their email marketing and marketing automation practices.

GDPR and ClickDimensions

The European Union imposes a new regulation known as; The General Data Protection Regulation (in short: GDPR). Its goal is to ensure data protection as well as privacy of EU residents. Any organisation collecting or processing personal data of EU citizens have to be compliant with the GDPR. ClickDimensions being a data processor will meet all requirements imposed on data processors. Companies are considered data collectors when they work with ClickDimensions software. These companies are therefore accountable for their compliance.

Luckily, ClickDimensions will work on features within their tool to make it easier for clients (like ourselves) to manage GDPR-compliance. More concrete details about these changes will become clear in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned on this blog for more related info!

About ClickDimensions

For the ones who are not that familiar with ClickDimensions yet, it’s an easy-to-use marketing solution fully embedded in Dynamics 365. This means that you can access its features through the Dynamics interface, while your data is stored within your CRM database (and not in a separate marketing tool). As we are working with ClickDimensions for our own marketing activities, we can assure you that it’s very straight-forward and intuitive to use.

20171206 - Gear up for GDPR - Breakfast seminar

Gear up for GDPR

Everyone is talking about GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) these days, mainly focusing on the enormous sanctions when violating the new data protection rules. Instead of spreading more panic, we invited GDPR expert Hans Demeyer to present the European regulation and tell us more about the opportunities and even profit one could generate thanks to GDPR.

On December 6 (the same day as Saint-Nicholas) we organised the morning seminar “Gear up for GDPR”. Presenter of the day, Hans Demeyer, started with a clear explanation on what GDPR actually stands for. After the more theoretical part, he told the story of Sophie and her privacy to make it more concrete. As it was an interactive seminar, our participants also worked together in small groups to brainstorm about diverse questions.

Looking at some of the feedback we received after the event, we believe the event was definitely worth attending!

I learned that there’s no reason to panic. You just have to be transparent in what you do with all the data.

“What’s new in Dynamics 365?” breakfast seminar

On Wednesday November 8 we organised a breakfast seminar about the newest features in Dynamics 365 (version 9.0). Place to be was Mediahuis in Antwerp, where also the offices of Admiral Dynamics are located. A dozen of participants were present at our morning session. We kicked off the day with a delicious breakfast and a cup of coffee.

Then, Marga Van Laere, CEO of Admiral Dynamics started her speech with a short summary on the basics of Microsoft Dynamics 365. After this introduction she informed our audience about the coolest features, since the latest upgrade of Dynamics 365 beginning of October:
